Countdown to the 2011 BMAD Valley Rally

The first ever BMAD rally is now gathering pace!  The Plume of Feathers, Princetown, Dartmoor, has long been a bikers haunt and they have a strong track record of running succesful events for bikers. When we approached them they welcomed us and have been keen to do all they can to help us get organised.

We have been given discounted prices (children's rate!) on the camping so we can look to make a little bit for our charity funds after the costs are paid.   We have exclusive use of the Function Room for our Bands on Friday and Saturday evenings.  There are proper showers and toilets in a block alongside the pub and good hard standing in the car park for our bikes.  The car park is between the pub and the camping field so the bikes will be overlooked at all times.

We are limiting tickets to 150 but each of those comes with a free rally patch.

Bands - We have MIU (Minor Injury Unit) playing on the Friday night and 4Rocks-Sake on the Saturday! Steve Parr is acting as MC and performing on the Friday.

On the Friday at 4pm there will be a tour of the local Dartmoor Brewery, it is restricted to 20 people because of the size of the premises so its going to be "first come first served" People will be invited to put their name down for the tour upon arrival at the rally, its the fairest way we can do it. The tour is likely to take 90 minutes and will finish in their bar/shop where you can sample the product!

A ride out will take place on the Saturday to Lydford Gorge, a national trust property, leaving at 10am ish We have negotiated a discount on the entrance fee down to £5.60 and there will be a 20% discount in the cafe for people with a rally wristband on. The place is heavenly with waterfalls and wooded walks. You will be able to leave your biking gear in their storerrom for safe keeping and we are promised tarmac car park space for bike parking.

The Saturday bar-b-que at 6.30 is £5.95 to include a 4oz burger, hot dog, 4 Thai marinated chicken skewers, jacket potato and salads selection. That is a full meal by my reckoning!

Breakfast are at £4.75, both the above payable to the pub.

We are planning silly games, as well as the bike show and a prize drawer, the bands and music, so tis going to be a full on weekend.

Tickets £20 per person, no under 16s or dogs.
